Dryer Drama
So the dryer I bought a few months ago was not drying properly from the get-go. Two weeks ago I had an appointment scheduled with Sears for them to come and look at it. I told them on the phone that I thought it was probably that the vent needed to be cleaned out, but that I couldn't get access to it. They gave me a 4 hour window. No one ever came and they never called to let me know. Plus they rescheduled the appointment for a day when I had to work without asking me. I called and rescheduled it for last week. Once again, 4 hour window. Sat around ALL FREAKING DAY waiting for them and they never came. AGAIN. I was ready to MURDER. So pissed. I called and yelled at them on the phone, said I was going to report them to the Better Business Bureau. Another appointment was made for yesterday. They actually came this time, but the technician was literally here for about 2 minutes. She tells me right away that its not the dryer, it's the vent that is the problem. Well no shit. She says it's not Sears' responsibility even though I think they should have cleaned it when they had the old one pulled out and were installing the new. She tells me it's the condo association's responsibility. So, I call them and they tell me that no, it's not their responsibility, it's mine- that I need to hire someone to come out and clean it. So I call around and arrange for someonce to come out today. Well apparently these wonderful units always have this problem because the idiots that designed them hooked the vents up to the crawl space which there is no access to which means this guy can't get up there to clean it. So now I have to purchase some water tank thing to collect the lint. Why oh why. And all this means that my old dryer probably was completely fine and I didn't even need to buy a new one. On top of that that fabulousness, I spent 4- count em 4- horrendous hours with the Comcast guy yesterday. They are making us get cable boxes because they are switching over to digital cable. The guy they sent out to hook it up was clueless when it came to setting it up for Tivo. So after 4 hours I was left with a non-funtional Tivo. I tried to fix it myself and somehow managed to disconnect the cable, so now I have no TV. Not even basic channels. And TV was pretty much the only thing keeping me semi-sane in this construction zone. By the end of the day I was on the verge of tears and a full-fledged meltdown. I was seriously ready to say screw-it to the modern world and got live in a tent or hut. All these things that are supposed to make our lives simpler can be such a headache and source of stress. Okay, enough about all that.

That seriously sucks. I'm really sorry and will gladly visit you in the tent, but only during the day because I don't do the woods at night. Hope things get better.
