a tour through philly

So the other night some girls from work and I were headed to a "jewelry party" that another girl from work was hosting. It's like a tupperware party, only instead of tupperware it's jewelry. We'd never been to her place before, so shortly before leaving we called the number she had printed on her fliers to get directions. Problem was, she put down the wrong number. So we printed out some directions from mapquest and we were off. They were the most effed up set of directions ever. We ended up driving all through the ghettos of Philly. Saw some nice "sidewalk parties" going on. Thankfully did not get shot. Showed up to the party embarassingly late. The jewelry was really tacky, which was good because I was not tempted to spend money. I was, however, tempted to adopt an adorable puppy that needed a home. The hostess's roommate is a vet tech and she'd brought home the most adorable puppy because it's owners couldn't afford to pay her hospital bills. She was a pit bull named Bella and had been a hit-by-car on New Year's Eve. She was white with black spots and pink eyelids and I want her so bad. But NO, I can't do it. Not home enough. Not fair to the dog. But damn was she cute.
