back in action

I returned to work about a month ago and it has been crazy ever since. We had a massive amount of work to do to get everything ready for our new bird house to get opened. The new exhibits had to be perched, we had to move all of our stuff for the kitchens, and of course had to move all the birds from where we had been housing them in the lion house basement and the primate building. So for a couple of weeks we were all working usually six days a week, usually going in early at 7, and sometimes not getting out until 8 or 9 at night. We are finally starting to get settled in and have our grand opening this weekend. There have been some special sneak previews already, and last week their was a special evening event held for the major donors. We have also had several film crews in and there was a half hour special on us on the local news station. It is so nice to be working in such a nice beautiful new building- it has been a long time coming!
