Weekend Update

Had a wonderful visit with my mom. Tuesday night we went to an Italian place for dinner in Manayunk and sat outside. Wednesday we went for a long walk along the Forbidden Drive Trail, walked around and had lunch at the Reading Terminal Market, and had dinner by the river at the Manayunk Brewery. Today we spent some time in Chestnut Hill. When we got back to the car, I had a ticket tucked under my windshield wipers. I had been parked at an out of order meter, so I was all mad that they were ticketing me for a meter I wasn't able to feed, but turns out the meter just got the cop's attention, who then noticed my expired inspection sticker. Whoops. I blame Pennsylvania and their stickers which they shove in the corner of your windshiled where you never notice them and their little numbers written in Sharpie on the back. In Virginia, the stickers go in the ceter of the windshield and huge black numbers on them. So much harder to ignore. So I took my car in to the Toyota dealership after my mom left. Grr grr grr because I was planning on taking it in next week anyway because it's due for its 15,000 mile service. I now have a rental Yaris until it is ready. I have to get used to sticking a key in an ignition again. And loud motor noise. And crappy gas mileage.
