Why my job sucked yesterday: Had to catch up newly hatched pea-chicks (boys are peacocks, females are pea-hens) and take them away from their mother to get euthanized. She followed us as we walked away with them. Thought I was going to cry. (We had to do it because a: it's too cold for chicks this time of year as they should have hatched in the spring and b: if we didn't take them they would have gotten stomped on or speared by the addox).

Why my job was the bomb diggity yesterday: It's "Beast Feast" time at the zoo which means we get to give some of our animals pumpkins. I had way too much fun carving the turkey vultures' pumpkin to look like a carcass/rib cage which I then stuffed with rats for them to pull out!
