Tails of Pet Sitting, Part 2
I am finally moved back into my own apartment. I feel like I haven't been here in ages due to the 8 days of house/pet-sitting, going to the beach, and living with Desiree and Donielle during the AC fiasco. If I learned one thing this week, it's that as much as I LOVE dogs, I do NOT want one of my own. I felt so tied down, not being able to run errands after work, having to come straight home, and then once there feeling like I couldn't leave again because Ben had already spent so much of the day alone. And when I do get a dog someday in the far far future, it will not be a giant beast like he was. He was at least 100 pounds and hos owners have a tiny tiny row house. He took up all of it. I often had to walk sideways to squeeze past him. And oh my god the slobber. To pass the time, I watched a bunch more movies since my last post. Rumor Has It (C), Match POint (C), Saved (C), Hard Candy (not even going to rate this one as it was so beyond f*ed up that I don't even know what to think about it), The Notebook (C), North Country (finally not a C, but rather a B- I love Frances McDormond), Full Frontal (D), and The Good Girl (C). Not one single "A" all week- oh well.
Drove back to my apartment yesterday to watch the semi-final game of Germany v. Turkey and my German boys won! Onto the finals!! One of the highlights was getting to hear Ballack speak German when, as the captain, he gave a speech on anti-racism. Love to hear them talk. After that it was back to walk and feed Ben one last time. Then I packed up all my stuff, came back here, showered, and then met up with Lacey who's working in Wilmington until November. I showed her my apartment, which she has never seen, and then we went out for a yummy dinner in Manayunk. The weather was perfect and we got a table out on the sidewalk.
