13.1
So way back in the beginning of December I somehow hust my hip. It's now almost 3 months later and I am just now feeling normal again. So to try to somehow make up for all the exercising that I have missed as a result, I decided to try to run my first half marathon at the gym the other night. I know. Crazy. But I did it- all 13.1 miles!!! I took a couple of short walking breaks, but for the most part I just kept on running (read that last part in Forrest Gump voice please). It took me 2 hours 26 minutes and 40 seconds. That averages to about 5.35mph. Not to bad for my first attempt. Prior to this, the farthest I had ever run was 6. I can't even imagine doing the full 26.2 miles. It was a great feeling when I was finally done. My muscles weren't even that sore the next day, but my joints ached. Now if I can just lay off the M&M's and cake maybe I can get myself back in shape.

i cannot begin to even imagine constantly moving for 2.5 hours. i'm trying to think of any activity i've ever done in my life that required 2.5 hours of constant moving without the assistance of wheels or moving water. i'm drawing a blank.
bravo.
wow kelly.
that's just plain crazy.
and very awesome at the same time.
next time why don't you just go for the whole thing?
