Favorite Books of 2009
One of my favorite things about the end of the year is all the "Year in Review", "Recap" and "Best of" type shows that channels such as VH1 are constantly airing. I wasn't very good at keeping track of the movies I watched this year, but I did make a list of all the books I read over at GoodReads. My favorite books this year have been A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini, Ultramarathon Man and 50/50 by Dean Karnazes (this guy is mind-boggling), Moose by Stephanie Klein (a very humorous memoir- click the link to go to her funny blog.), The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follet (a large book, set during the 12th century, with many interwoven stories. I'm not normally into "period" stuff, but this book really surprised me with how good it was), and Freakonomics by Levitt and Dubner. Right now I am trying to finish up The Help by Kathryn Stockett by the end of the year. It's really good so far and I think it'll be another favorite. I've read 20 books this year- not too shabby! What are some of your favorites? I'm always looking for good recommendations!
